Fly Me to the Moon
Starstreet Precinct wishes you a very happy Mid-Autumn Festival!
When bright, colourful lanterns fill the streets of Hong Kong and shops fill up with mooncakes, it can only mean that Mid-Autumn Festival is right around the corner. As families make plans to spend time together to celebrate one of Hong Kong’s most important and heart-warming holidays, the city is turning into an even more vibrant spectacle of colour and light. Joining in the festivities, we are ‘glowing’ all out with an installation of the Lady of the Moon! The majestic Lady of the Moon has arrived at Starstreet Precinct! Set against a glorious full moon and surrounded by floating cloud lanterns, the decorations have taken over the rooftops above the PURE Yoga and Elephant Grounds, as well as the bus stop outside Three Pacific Place, on Queen’s Road East.
Inspired by the traditional Chinese folktale, the installation depicts a cloudy night’s sky and the silhouette of a goddess, a romantic structure that transforms the neighbourhood into a luminous scene; the perfect backdrop for your selfies, especially after dark.
We are celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival with a photo competition, from 21 September to 7 October, and giving away three gorgeous hampers. To win, simply post your best, most creative photo of the Lady of the Moon on Instagram, using the hashtags #flymetothemoon #starstreet. Don’t forget to check-in at Starstreet Precinct and tag @StarstreetHK! We will choose and announce our three favourites on Friday, 12 October.
The lucky winners will take home the following prizes:
